Written by kids, for kids, so kids know they're not the only ones with overly-emotional mothers. We can't explain these teary-eyed women who manage our lives, but we can make lists of all the silly things they cry about before we shrug them off and continue with our days. Remember, as contributor Hewitt says, "Sometimes ladies cry..." So, kids, why is your mom crying?

She daydreamed about me running in my school's 1-mile fun run
Not my future Olympic running feats, just my first fun run.

I told my sister that I love her
My older sister was rude to me, so I smiled, walked towards her, tried to hug and kiss her, and said, "Tula, I love you no matter what."

I told my brother to apologize / I apologized
I told my little brother, "You need to apologize or else your heart will feel sick" (not in a spiteful "I'm-your-big-brother-so-apologize-to-me" way but more an "I'm-your-big-brother-and-I'm-just-telling-you-something-I've-learned" way).

I apologized.

We got excited when our little brother used the potty
We yelled "Mom! We need a jellybean!! Hurry!!!" when our little brother went poo in the potty one night before bathtime. And then the three of us (naked...) waited for her at the top of the stairs, celebrating "our" accomplishment.

I asked for a cookie
Sure, it was the 10th time I had asked "My try this? My eat this?" but I genuinely believed that this time she would answer differently. And perhaps some of her watery eyes were from the this-is-the-definition-of-insanity feeling she had. Don't feel bad for me, though -- I had already had one cookie at that point and sweet-talked two more out of her before the end of the day.

I sang to her
She was singing to me while she rocked me to sleep, so I harmonized (terribly...).

I asked her to play with me
And the wind was blowing my curls around. She was done for!

I'll be too long for my infant carseat soon
Same thing happened to my two older sisters, so this is should not be an unexpected event.

She got a Christmas card
From our elderly neighbor who moved away a few months ago.
~Harrison (6 years old), Hewitt (4 years old), and Heath (2 years old)
I wrapped up the blessing at dinner with "Pass-to-Heath-AMEN!"
Which is my typical closing.

I have a loose tooth
It's not even my first loose tooth -- I've already lost two!
